When you do a lot of work on building websites, you sometimes run into issues with cache and cookies becoming corrupted in your browser. Every browser uses a different strategy for how they handle those kinds of performance files, so it’s difficult to have this part of the equation working perfectly for everyone. Once it a while, you may need to go in and clear your cache and cookies to give your browser a fresh start. Here are some instructions on how to do that.
Clearing Cache & Cookies in Google Chrome Browser
- In Chrome, open the Settings by clicking on the three dots in the top right corner and then clicking on “Settings” as shown below.
- In the settings window that opens, click on Privacy and Security in the left sidebar and then click on Clear Browsing Data.
- Select the data range All Time and then be sure to check the boxes for Cookies and other site data and Caches images and files. There’s no need to clear your browsing history.
- It’s best to go ahead and complete quit your browser after doing this and then relaunch it.
Note: You’ll be logged out of all your websites when you do this, so you need to make sure you are able to log back in. We recommend 1Password password manager to keep all your passwords safe.
